Typical Amcrest URL
rtsp://user:pass@IP:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0
Amcrest's RTSP format mirrors Dahua-style paths, which makes it easy to reuse a known-good SmartRTSP camera profile for the bridge.
What SmartRTSP will add
Once the macOS HomeKit bridge is available, the same local Amcrest stream used for viewing in SmartRTSP can also become an Apple Home camera endpoint.
Expected setup flow
1. Confirm RTSP is enabled.
Verify port 554 and the expected stream path in the Amcrest web UI.
2. Add the stream to SmartRTSP for Mac.
Use the main stream for image quality or the sub-stream if you want to reduce load.
3. Pair through the upcoming HomeKit bridge.
SmartRTSP will expose the already-working Amcrest input to Apple Home from your Mac.
Amcrest-specific notes
- Use
subtype=1for the sub-stream when bitrate matters. - Use the same username and password as the camera web interface.
- Keep the Mac and camera on the same local network for the simplest setup.
