Hikvision to HomeKit

SmartRTSP for Mac is preparing to turn Hikvision RTSP and ONVIF feeds into a HomeKit bridge target for Apple Home. This is aimed at DS-series cameras, Hikvision NVR channels and rebranded Hikvision hardware that already works with SmartRTSP.

Hikvision is one of the easiest brands to bridge because it normally supports both RTSP and ONVIF on the local network.

SmartRTSP can help you add Hikvision cameras first, confirm live view, and continue toward Apple Home from the Mac app.

Expected setup flow

1. Enable RTSP / ONVIF on Hikvision.

Check Configuration → Network → Advanced Settings → Integration Protocol and confirm RTSP plus ONVIF are active.

2. Add the camera or NVR channel to SmartRTSP for Mac.

Use ONVIF scan or add the RTSP URL manually. For NVRs, keep the same URL pattern and adjust channel numbers like /201 or /301.

3. Turn on HomeKit export.

Once the feature ships, SmartRTSP for Mac will generate the HomeKit pairing workflow for the Hikvision stream you already verified locally.

4. Pair in Apple Home.

Use the Home app on iPhone, iPad or Mac to add the camera through SmartRTSP's pairing code.

  • Use 101 for the main stream and 102 for the sub-stream.
  • Prefer a static IP so the Mac bridge configuration stays stable.
  • Enable ONVIF if you want the easiest SmartRTSP onboarding path.

Do I need a Hikvision camera with native HomeKit?

Yes, if the channel works in SmartRTSP first. NVR-backed RTSP channels are expected to be valid HomeKit bridge inputs as well.
