Identify the IP-capable camera generation
The EX1030H product page describes simultaneous IP and SDI output and lists network streaming and control protocols. That product specification is not a promise for a USB-only camera, a different connector option, or every earlier firmware release. Record the complete model suffix and firmware version before choosing a setup guide.
A production camera may also provide VISCA over IP, ONVIF or FreeD. These serve different integration purposes. Receiving RTSP video in a viewer does not prove that motor movement, presets, tracking or production metadata will work through that viewer.
Use the path from the matching network manual
The cited outdoor dual-output guide documents the following main and secondary stream addresses. Use them only when that manual applies to your camera. Substitute the camera address and its configured RTSP port; 554 is the documented port in that guide. A newer product generation may have a different interface or URI.

- Confirm the exact model, output option and firmware against the Bolin download for that camera.
- Connect the network interface and supply power using the requirements for that model; a network socket does not establish a particular PoE power class.
- Open the camera configuration on the same local network and set a unique device password. Use a restricted viewing account when available.
- Review the IP video encoding, stream enablement and RTSP port. Keep the chosen resolution compatible with the camera output timing.
- Copy the documented stream URI and add it manually in SmartRTSP, entering the device credentials securely.
- Check first-frame video and sustained playback locally. Test a lower-bandwidth secondary stream separately before adding more simultaneous viewers.
Check output timing before blaming the viewer
On the documented dual-output platform, IP encoding choices are related to the SDI or HDMI output configuration. Changing the production output format can therefore change which network resolutions or frame rates are available. Recheck both settings when the picture disappears after a production-format change.
For a reachable camera with no picture, verify the RTSP service, exact path, account permissions and selected video codec before changing unrelated control settings. Keep the camera on a trusted network; this guide does not require publishing its management or RTSP port to the Internet.
Check each feature independently
Start on the same local network with the exact model, firmware and account permissions. A working video stream does not prove support for ONVIF discovery, pan or tilt, two-way audio, events, or every recording feature. Test the features you need in your installed SmartRTSP app.
Keep camera credentials private. Do not expose camera ports to the public internet just to test local viewing. Manufacturer cloud accounts, device accounts and generated sharing links are not interchangeable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does every Bolin camera use the PSIA path?
No. It is documented in the cited outdoor dual-output guide. Use the network manual for the complete model and generation you own.
Does RTSP include Bolin PTZ and tracking controls?
No. RTSP viewing is separate from VISCA, ONVIF control, FreeD and model-specific tracking integrations. Check each required control function independently.
Can I use a lower-resolution stream?
Use a secondary stream only if it is provided and enabled on your model. Confirm its encoding and URL rather than assuming the example exists on every camera.
Official sources and scope
Read the documentation for the exact model before changing settings. Manufacturer menus, firmware and service availability can change. These sources explain the published connection conditions, not independently verified SmartRTSP hardware compatibility.
