Your Privacy is Our Priority

1. Scope and Local-First Design

This Privacy Policy explains how SmartRTSP ("we," "our," or "the app") handles information on supported Apple platforms and Windows. SmartRTSP connects directly to cameras and processes camera streams on the device by default.

2. Information Tardis Labs Does Not Collect from the App

SmartRTSP does not send the following information to Tardis Labs or SmartRTSP servers:

• Camera video, live streams, audio, snapshots, or recordings
• Detection events, event thumbnails, or local history
• Camera IP addresses, RTSP/ONVIF URLs, usernames, or passwords
• Usage analytics, advertising identifiers, tracking data, crash telemetry, or precise location

If you voluntarily contact support, we receive the email address, message, and attachments you choose to send so that we can respond. Do not send camera passwords or footage that you do not want included in a support request.

3. Information Accessed and Stored Locally

Depending on the features you use, SmartRTSP may access and store the following on your device or a storage location you select:

• Camera configurations and protected credentials — addresses, display names, connection settings, usernames, and passwords you enter
• Camera media — live video and audio, recordings, snapshots, and event thumbnails
• Detection and history data — event type, camera, time, confidence, recording links, and retention state
• Preferences and integration settings — notification, Live Push, Apple Home, storage, performance, and display settings

This data is not available to Tardis Labs. Files saved to a user-selected folder, external drive, or network share remain under the user's control.

4. Camera, Microphone, and Network Access

SmartRTSP accesses RTSP/ONVIF camera video and audio to provide live viewing, recording, detection, snapshots, and playback. On supported Apple devices, camera or microphone permissions are used only when you enable features that require the device's own camera or microphone.

The app uses local-network access to discover and connect directly to cameras and, when enabled, to communicate with local Apple Home controllers. Camera traffic is not relayed through SmartRTSP servers.

5. Optional User-Directed Transfers

The following transfers occur only after you configure and enable the relevant feature. Data goes directly from your device to the service or device you select; Tardis Labs is not an intermediary and cannot view these transfers.

• iCloud sync — On supported Apple platforms, selected camera configurations and preferences may be synchronized through Apple's CloudKit. Video recordings and event history are not included.
• Email and webhook alerts — Event details and, when available, an event thumbnail may be sent to the SMTP server, webhook, Slack, Discord, Teams, Lark, or custom destination you configure.
• Live Push — Camera video and audio are sent to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, or a custom RTMP/RTMPS destination only while you explicitly run a live broadcast.
• Apple Home — Live video, snapshots, and enabled motion or occupancy events are shared with paired Apple Home controllers on your local network.

You can stop Live Push, disable notification destinations or iCloud sync, and disable or unpair Apple Home using the corresponding app or platform controls. Each destination's own privacy policy and terms govern the data it receives.

6. App Stores and Purchases

Apple and Microsoft may process store account, purchase, subscription, and license information under their own privacy policies. SmartRTSP may read license or entitlement status needed to unlock purchased features, but Tardis Labs does not receive payment-card information through the app.

7. Tracking and Advertising

SmartRTSP does not include third-party advertising networks, analytics SDKs, advertising tracking, or behavioral profiling. Local playback does not require a SmartRTSP account or SmartRTSP cloud service.

8. Data Security

SmartRTSP uses platform security facilities to protect supported credentials at rest. Webhook destinations must use HTTPS, and configured email uses TLS. Live Push supports RTMPS; a custom plain RTMP destination is not encrypted, so use RTMPS whenever the destination supports it. The security and retention practices of destinations you configure are controlled by those providers.

9. Retention and Deletion

• Delete a camera in SmartRTSP to remove its saved configuration from the app.
• Delete recordings, snapshots, and events in the app, or use configured retention and storage limits.
• Disable an integration to stop future transfers and use the destination provider's controls to delete data already sent there.
• Uninstalling the app removes app-managed data according to the platform's behavior. Media exported to Photos, an external folder, drive, or network share may remain until you delete it from that location.

10. Children's Privacy

SmartRTSP is not directed to children under 13. Tardis Labs does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy when product features, platform requirements, or privacy practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest version.
