Official Documentation and Verification Scope
Documentation checked: 2026-10-18. Use the stream and channel resource documented for the actual Dahua device. Additional subtypes, encoders, ONVIF functions and local account permissions depend on the model and firmware. A similar path on another product does not prove identical firmware or feature support.
These instructions are based on published documentation. This guide does not certify a physical camera, every model in the brand, or all audio, PTZ, event and recording functions in SmartRTSP.
How to Enable RTSP on Dahua
Find camera with ConfigTool
Download Dahua ConfigTool to scan your network and identify the camera's IP address. You can also initialize new cameras from ConfigTool.
Log in and verify RTSP port
Open a browser, go to http://<camera-IP>. Navigate to Setting → Network → Connection. Confirm the RTSP port is 554.
Add to SmartRTSP
ONVIF Scan (easiest): Try ONVIF discovery if the exact model supports and enables it. Check the local account, media profile and network reachability.
