Official Documentation and Verification Scope
Documentation checked: 2026-10-18. Hanwha’s official RTSP article distinguishes ordinary IP-camera profiles, sensor-indexed cameras and recorder output. Keep the selected profile number, sensor mapping and configured port with the exact endpoint; video playback does not by itself establish PTZ, presets or event support.
These instructions are based on published documentation. This guide does not certify a physical camera, every model in the brand, or all audio, PTZ, event and recording functions in SmartRTSP.
How to Enable RTSP on Hanwha Vision Cameras
Log in to the camera web interface
Find the camera in Wisenet Device Manager or your router's device list, then open its local IP in a browser. Current cameras require you to set an admin password at first access. Use that configured password for the local account; for an already installed camera, obtain the credentials from its administrator. Follow the exact model's manual for older devices or password recovery.
Review stream profile settings
Open the video profile settings in the camera web UI. Note the profile number, codec, resolution, and frame rate you want to use. Menus vary by firmware. Use an enabled H.264 profile as a starting point when diagnosing playback; do not assume profile1 is always high resolution or profile2 is always a low bandwidth sub-stream.
Confirm ONVIF is enabled (recommended)
Check the exact model's ONVIF support and the account's viewing permissions in its manual and web UI. Supported profiles and settings vary by product and firmware. Scan from the same LAN with authorized credentials, or enter the camera's RTSP URL manually if discovery is unavailable.
Add the camera to SmartRTSP
Option A — ONVIF Auto-Discovery: Scan in SmartRTSP on the camera's LAN, authenticate with an authorized local account, and choose an available stream profile.
Option B — Manual RTSP URL: Tap + → Manual in SmartRTSP, then enter your camera's URL:
Hanwha Vision RTSP URL Reference
For supported IP cameras, replace N in /profileN/media.smp with an enabled profile number. The camera configuration determines each profile's quality. Recorder channels and multi-sensor models have different URL forms; use the device type you are connecting to.
| Stream | RTSP Path |
|---|---|
| Camera profile 1, if configured | /profile1/media.smp |
| Camera profile 2, if configured | /profile2/media.smp |
| Camera profile 3, if configured | /profile3/media.smp |
| Full URL — Camera profile 1 | rtsp://user:pass@IP:554/profile1/media.smp |
| Full URL — Camera profile 2 | rtsp://user:pass@IP:554/profile2/media.smp |
Multi-sensor cameras and NVRs
Hanwha documents /0/profile2/media.smp for sensor 1 on listed multi-sensor models, and /LiveChannel/0/media.smp for NVR channel 1. Both use zero-based numbering. For NVRs, check the configured device port range: its last port is used for RTSP. These examples are not interchangeable with a single camera's profile URL.
