How to Connect Lorex to SmartRTSP
1
Enable RTSP on NVR or IP Camera
For NVR: log in to the NVR web interface → System → Network → Service and enable RTSP port 554.
For standalone IP cameras: log in to the camera's web UI → Configuration → Network → Advanced → Integration Protocol.
2
Verify admin credentials
Use the admin username and password for the NVR or camera. Factory default is often admin / admin — change this immediately for security.
3
Add to SmartRTSP
Use ONVIF scan in SmartRTSP to auto-detect, or manually enter:
rtsp://admin:Password@192.168.1.100:554/Streaming/Channels/101
FAQ
Does Lorex use the same RTSP format as Hikvision?
Yes. Lorex cameras and NVRs use Hikvision-compatible ISAPI. The RTSP path /Streaming/Channels/101 works for most Lorex products, including their 4K and 8MP UHD series.
Can I access individual NVR channels via RTSP?
Yes. NVR channel 1 is /Streaming/Channels/101, channel 2 is /Streaming/Channels/201, and so on. Use the NVR's IP address, not individual camera IPs.
