Bosch Camera RTSP URLs: Media Paths and Stream Profiles

Published May 1, 2026 | Updated 2026-07-19

Bosch does not use one RTSP path across every camera generation. Identify the exact model and firmware, then use its documented media endpoint. For initial network commissioning, see the separate Bosch default IP and discovery-tool guide. For a short connection checklist, use the Bosch quick connection page.

Find the Bosch Camera Before Testing RTSP

Current Bosch cameras try DHCP first. Without DHCP, firmware 6.32 and later uses a 169.254 link-local address; older firmware may use 192.168.0.1. Bosch has deprecated IP Helper 1.00.0008 and older and recommends Project Assistant for guided commissioning. Configuration Manager remains the deeper multi-device administration tool.

Credential safety: Do not assume or publish a factory password. Use the account created during commissioning and follow the exact product installation guide for recovery.

Bosch Camera RTSP Stream URLs

Bosch media paths vary by product family and firmware. The examples below are starting points only; confirm the endpoint in the exact model documentation:

media.amp path (supported product families only)

rtsp://username:password@camera-ip:554/media/media.amp

Profile-based path (supported product families only)

rtsp://username:password@camera-ip:554/video?inst=1&h26x=4

Channel-specific URL

rtsp://username:password@camera-ip:554/media/media.amp?channel=1

Sub-stream (lower resolution)

rtsp://username:password@camera-ip:554/media/media.amp?channel=2

Replace username, password, and camera-ip with your camera's actual credentials and IP address.

Stream Profile Configuration

Bosch cameras allow you to configure multiple stream profiles with different quality settings. To configure stream profiles:

  1. Access camera web interface at http://camera-ip
  2. Navigate to: Configuration → Camera → Streams
  3. Set codec to H.264 or H.265 for best compatibility
  4. Configure resolution: 1920×1080 (main), 640×360 (sub)
  5. Set frame rate (recommended: 15–25 fps for live monitoring)
  6. Set bitrate mode: CBR (constant) for stable streaming, VBR for quality

Quick Setup Steps

  1. Commission the camera with current Bosch Project Assistant or Configuration Manager, then record its local IP
  2. Access camera web interface at http://camera-ip
  3. Navigate to: Configuration → Network → Streaming → RTSP
  4. Enable RTSP and confirm port is 554
  5. Set username and password if not already configured
  6. Open SmartRTSP → tap + → enter the RTSP URL → connect

Discovery tip: Try ONVIF Scan first, then verify the exact model's conformant profiles and enabled services if it does not respond.
