IP camera that supports RTSP streaming
Camera connected to your local network

Getting Started

Download SmartRTSP from the App Store
Find your camera's RTSP URL (usually in camera settings)
Tap + to add a new camera in SmartRTSP
Paste the RTSP URL
Start viewing your camera live

RTSP Viewer on iPad

The iPad belongs on this iOS setup page rather than a duplicate generic guide. Use landscape orientation and camera substreams for a readable multi-camera grid, then open the main stream only when you need detail. Keep recording on a camera, NVR, or other system designed for retention; a foreground iPad viewer is not an always-on recorder.

Use an H.264 substream for each grid tile when the full-resolution feeds are too heavy.
Test heat, charging, Wi-Fi quality, and reconnect behavior on the actual iPad.
Use a VPN for remote viewing instead of exposing the camera’s RTSP port publicly.
