How to Use Reolink RTSP

1

Confirm RTSP is active

Most Reolink cameras (RLC series, E1, Argus with hub) have RTSP enabled by default on port 554. To verify, open the Reolink app → tap the camera → Settings gear → Network → Advanced → RTSP. Confirm it shows "Enabled, port 554".

2

Find the camera IP address

In the Reolink app, go to Settings → Network → Status to see the IP address. Alternatively use the Reolink Client software on your PC/Mac which will show all cameras on the LAN.

3

Add to SmartRTSP

Option A — ONVIF Auto-Discovery: Tap the ONVIF scan button in SmartRTSP to auto-find your Reolink camera.

Option B — Manual URL: Tap + → Manual, then enter:

rtsp://admin:YourPassword@192.168.1.100:554/h264Preview_01_main

Replace admin, YourPassword, and the IP with your camera's values. No password set? Leave the password field blank.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Reolink cameras support RTSP?
Most wired Reolink cameras (RLC-410, RLC-810A, E1 Pro, etc.) support RTSP natively. Battery-powered cameras (Argus series without HomeHub) generally do not support RTSP as they are sleep-based. Check the Reolink RTSP support page for the full compatibility list.
Why does Reolink stream say "connection failed"?
Common causes: wrong password (case-sensitive), wrong IP, camera is on a different VLAN/subnet, or RTSP is disabled. Try pinging the camera IP from your Mac. Also try the sub-stream URL if the main stream is overloaded.
Does Reolink support ONVIF for auto-discovery?
Yes. Most Reolink NVR and PoE cameras support ONVIF Profile S. Solo cameras may have partial ONVIF support. SmartRTSP's ONVIF scan reliably finds Reolink cameras on the same network.
Where is the official Reolink RTSP documentation?
See the official Reolink RTSP support article. For firmware downloads, visit reolink.com/software-and-firmware.
