Why Choose SmartRTSP for Business

No monthly fees

Cloud security subscriptions can cost $30–$100+ per month. SmartRTSP is a one-time app purchase — no ongoing fees, no per-camera charges, no contracts.

Multi-camera grid view

Monitor your storefront, back office, warehouse, and parking simultaneously in a grid on one iPhone, iPad, or Mac screen.

AI person detection for after-hours alerts

Person detection runs entirely on your device using on-device AI — no footage sent to cloud servers. Get notified the moment someone enters a monitored zone after hours.

Works with any RTSP/ONVIF camera

Mix cameras from Axis, Bosch, Hikvision, Reolink, Dahua, and more on a single screen. Any RTSP or ONVIF camera is supported — no vendor lock-in.

Local recordings stay on your device or NAS

All recordings are stored on your device or a connected NAS — never uploaded to any third-party server. Your business footage stays on your premises, giving you full control over retention and access.

Common Business Use Cases

Retail store

Cover the entrance, checkout counter, stockroom, and back exit. SmartRTSP's grid view lets you watch all zones at once from an iPad mounted behind the counter, or glance at your iPhone from anywhere in the store.

Small office

Monitor the main entrance and server room with two cameras. After-hours person detection alerts ensure you're notified if anyone enters outside of business hours — no security guard required.

Restaurant

Cover the kitchen, front entrance, and parking area simultaneously. Review event recordings if an incident is reported — no need to scrub through hours of continuous footage.

Warehouse

Monitor the loading dock and interior floor with wide-angle PoE cameras. SmartRTSP's ONVIF auto-discovery makes adding new cameras quick as your needs grow.

Setting Up Multiple Cameras

1

Connect cameras to your business network

Use a PoE switch for wired reliability, or Wi-Fi for flexible placement. Assign static IP addresses to each camera so their RTSP URLs remain consistent across reboots.

2

Use ONVIF auto-discovery

Open SmartRTSP and tap the scan icon. The app finds all ONVIF cameras on your network automatically — no need to type individual RTSP URLs for each camera manually.

3

Arrange your multi-camera grid

Organize cameras into a grid layout that maps to your floor plan — for example, entrance top-left, checkout top-right, stockroom bottom-left, parking bottom-right.

4

Configure after-hours detection and notifications

Enable person detection on cameras covering entry points. Schedule notifications so you're alerted after closing time without interruptions during business hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many cameras can I monitor simultaneously?
SmartRTSP supports up to 4 simultaneous live camera feeds in a grid layout. You can swipe between groups if you have more cameras configured — practical for businesses with 8 or more cameras.
Can I monitor remotely when I'm not on-site?
Yes. Connect back to your business network via a VPN (WireGuard, OpenVPN, or Tailscale installed on your office router) and SmartRTSP works exactly as it does on-site. This is more secure than opening camera ports directly to the internet.
Does it work with my existing NVR?
Yes. Most RTSP-capable NVRs expose individual channel streams via RTSP URLs. Add each channel's RTSP URL to SmartRTSP to view them directly — this works alongside any standalone ONVIF cameras you have on the same network.
Do I need a dedicated device?
No. SmartRTSP works on any iPhone, iPad, or Mac. A wall-mounted iPad running SmartRTSP makes an excellent permanent monitor station, but you can also simply check cameras on your personal phone whenever you need to.
