Cameras to Avoid for RTSP
These popular consumer cameras do not support standard RTSP, or the support is so limited that they cannot be recommended for use with SmartRTSP.
Ring cameras use a proprietary protocol and are cloud-only. There is no RTSP access, no local streaming option, and no ONVIF support. Ring cameras cannot be used with SmartRTSP.
Arlo cameras are fully cloud-dependent with no local network access. They do not expose an RTSP stream. Not compatible with SmartRTSP.
Google deprecated Nest's local RTSP support. Newer Nest cameras are cloud-only and not compatible with SmartRTSP. Older Nest Cam models with the original app may have limited RTSP.
