Reolink RTSP Setup

Stream a compatible Reolink camera, Home Hub, or NVR to SmartRTSP on iPhone, iPad, or Mac. The required endpoint depends on the exact model, hardware version, firmware, and whether the camera is standalone or connected through a recorder or hub.

How to Use Reolink RTSP

Confirm RTSP is active

First confirm the exact model's connection path. In current Reolink apps, open the device settings and use Advanced Network Settings → Server Settings where available. In Reolink Client, use Device Settings → Network → Advanced → Server Settings, then enable RTSP/ONVIF and verify their ports.

Find the camera IP address

In the Reolink app, go to Settings → Network → Status to see the IP address. Alternatively use the Reolink Client software on your PC/Mac which will show all cameras on the LAN.

Add to SmartRTSP

Option A — ONVIF Auto-Discovery: Tap the ONVIF scan button in SmartRTSP to auto-find your Reolink camera.

Option B — Manual URL: Tap + → Manual, then enter:

rtsp://camera_user:YourPassword@192.168.1.100:554/Preview_01_main

Replace camera_user, YourPassword, and the IP with the credentials and address configured on your camera, Home Hub, or NVR.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Reolink cameras support RTSP?
Most wired PoE and plug-in Wi-Fi models support RTSP/ONVIF directly, but E1/E320/E321 require a Home Hub or NVR. Standalone battery Wi-Fi cameras do not expose RTSP/ONVIF; use a compatible Home Hub or a specifically supported newer NVR. Most 4G LTE cameras are unsupported. Why does Reolink stream say "connection failed"?
Common causes: wrong password (case-sensitive), wrong IP, camera is on a different VLAN/subnet, or RTSP is disabled. Try pinging the camera IP from your Mac. Also try the sub-stream URL if the main stream is overloaded.
Does Reolink support ONVIF for auto-discovery?
Many wired cameras and Reolink NVRs support ONVIF, but E1/E320/E321, battery cameras, no-UID NVR kit cameras, and LTE products have different connection rules. Enable ONVIF on the actual endpoint and verify the exact hardware and firmware in Reolink's compatibility table.
